Cultivating a culture of innovation and collaboration, Ivory innovations engages students and community members in the search for solutions to the housing affordability crisis.  We support classes, workshops, and internship opportunities as well as the national Ivory Prize competition and local Hack-A-House university events.

If you are a student at the University of Utah, you can apply for this experiential lab that will explore innovations with potential to improve housing affordability in Utah and the United States as a whole.

The lab collaborates with Ivory Homes, providing support to the Ivory Prize search award. Communicating directly with the national advisory board of Ivory Innovations and traveling to meet with nominees for the prize.  


Hack-A-House for Housing Affordability

Ivory Innovations supports hackathons for housing affordability at universities to engage the next generation in finding solutions to this national crisis. In 2019 we will release an event guide to help student organizers host events at their universities with a faculty sponsor.

Over 100 participants were drawn to the 2018 University of Utah Hack-A-House where $5,000 of prizes and automatic entry to the Schmidt American Dreams prize drew stiff competition. To see the schedule and winners of the event please use the link below.
